Notre Dame Catholic School senior, Ricky Ruiz honored with prestigious award

Notre Dame Catholic School senior, Ricky Ruiz, was honored as a scholar in the National Hispanic Recognition Program for excellence in academic achievement.

Ruiz has been a Notre Dame student since kindergarten and is currently considering Midwestern State University, Texas A&M University, or Texas Tech University for his undergraduate studies. He is interesed in pre-med and enjoys creative writing. Along with his academic accomplishments, Ruiz has also earned a junior black belt in Jeet Kune Do.

The National Hispanic Recognition Program (NHRP) identifies academically outstanding Hispanic/Latino high school students. Each year, the NHRP honors nearly 5,000 of the highest-scoring students from the approximately 235,000 Hispanic/Latino juniors who take the PSAT/NMSQT. 

Although the NHRP does not provide a financial reward, being named is an important academic recognition. NHRP is proud to honor outstanding students and make this information available to subscribing colleges and universities that are particularly interested in communicating with academically exceptional Hispanic/Latino students.
