Brenda Raney earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Missouri School of Journalism and a Masters in Media Communications from Webster University in Webster Groves, Missouri. She spent the majority of her professional career in public relations for several major corporations, and did freelance work as a book reviewer for the Dallas Morning News and as a feature writer for Emerge Magazine. (Emerge ceased publication in 2000.)
