FORT WORTH — A sea of coral dispersed from Catholic Charities Fort Worth’s headquarters in south Fort Worth to eight locations in Tarrant County for CCFW’s Day of Service on Oct. 25.
A total of 165 registered volunteers and about 20 CCFW staff, all clad in matching coral-colored T-shirts, participated in cleaning, organizing, landscaping, and other tasks for nonprofits, which included churches, schools, food pantries, and a center for domestic violence survivors.
The army of helpers was the highest number of registrants for the annual event, said Allie Phillippi, CCFW’s director of community engagement, who coordinated the outreach.
“We do this to give back to the community,” said Phillippi. “We have strong partners that help us serve our clients,” who numbered more than 23,000 in 2024.
The Wichita Falls office of Catholic Charities Fort Worth also has an annual Day of Service.
